Eligibility Criteria of
Indian Army Recruitment
Educational Qualification: Candidate must be class 10th/Matric pass with 45% marks in aggregate and 33% in each subject. For boards following grading system, min of ‘D’ grade (33% - 40%) in individual subjects or grades with 33% in indl subjects and overall aggregate of ‘C2’ grade or equivalent corresponding to 45% in aggregate. For Indian Gorkha women, the educational qualification is Class 10th simple pass.
Age Limit: Candidates age should not be less than 17 years 6 months
and not more than 23 years.
Age Relaxation: The one-time upper age limit has been increased
from 21 years to 23 years for the recruitment year 2022-23.
Other Criteria: Candidates with valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) Driving License will be given preference for Driver requirements.
Widow Women: Women who are widowed, divorced or legally separated are also eligible provided they do not have any children subject to fulfilling all other eligibility criteria.
Physical Standards:
(a) Height: 162 cms.
(b) Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per Army Medical standards.
(c) Chest Expansion: The candidates should be capable of chest expansion of 05 cms.
Special Physical Standards: Candidates belonging to following regions will be given 4 cms height relaxation:-
(a) North East Region: Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya and Assam.
(b) Gorkhas.
(c) Garhwalis.
