Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) is an autonomous Society under the Ministry of Power engaged in Research and Development in the fields of generation, transmission, distribution and operation of electricity supply systems. CPRI acts as an apex body for initiating and coordinating applied research in electrical power engineering assisting the electrical industry in product development and in Quality Assurance. CPRI also serves as an independent Authority for Testing & Certification of power equipment. The CPRI Head office is situated at Bangalore and its units are at Bhopal, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Noida, Kolkata, Guwahati and Nasik.

1. Engineering Assistant
No. of Post: 6
Educational Qualification: 3
year Diploma with First Class in Electrical / Civil Engineering.
Experience:
For Electrical Engg: 5 Years
post qualification experience in areas such as Supervision and assisting in
Operation and Maintenance, Testing of Electrical Equipment’s.
For Civil Engg: 5 Years post
qualification experience in areas such as Supervision of Civil Works, Knowledge
of planning of civil projects such as collecting data, information, estimation,
tendering procedure, Day to day supervision, coordination, maintenance of
estate, Knowledge of statutory requirement like Contract Labour (R&A) and
related issue.
Upper Age Limit (years): 35
years
2. Technician Grade 2
No. of Post: 7
Educational Qualification: 2
year ITI certificate in Electrician Trade.
Experience: 5 years of
post qualification experience in Electrician Trade.
Upper Age Limit (years): 30
years
3 (a). Assistant Grade II
No. of Post: 4
Educational Qualification: A
University Degree in Commerce/ Business Administration/ Business Management
with First Class. English Typing speed of 30 w.p.m on Computer.
Experience: 3 years of
post degree experience in areas such as Finance & Accounts, Establishment
& Administration, etc.
Upper Age Limit (years): 30
years
3 (b). Assistant Grade-II (For Official Language,
Hindi Typing Essential. Initial posting at Bangalore)
No. of Post: 1
Educational Qualification: A University Degree in Arts/ Commerce/ Science/ Management with
First Class. Should have studied Hindi as one of the subjects at Degree Level.
English Typing speed of 30 w.p.m and Hindi Typing speed of 25 w.p.m on
Computer.
Desirable: Knowledge of
Hindi, English and Translation work
Experience: 3 years of
post degree experience.

4. Stenographer Grade III
No. of Post: 3
Educational Qualification: A
University Degree in Commerce / Business Administration/ Business Management
/Arts with First Class. Stenography with a speed of 80 w.p.m and Typing speed
of 30 w.p.m in English.
Experience: 3 years of
post degree experience Secretarial Practice, Stenography, Noting, Drafting,
Typing etc.
Upper Age Limit (years): 30

5. MTS Grade 1–(Watchman)
No. of Post: 4
Educational Qualification: Ex-serviceman (Army/Navy/Air force) preferably with 10th Pass
Upper Age Limit (years): 45 (for
UR Ex-servicemen and 48 for OBC Ex-servicemen)

Recruitment:
- Engineering Assistant, Technician Gr.2, Assistant Gr. II, Stenographer grade III: Rs.200.00 For each post 2
- MTS Gr.1 (Watchman) (Reserved for Ex-servicemen) : Nil/ Exempted
- SC/ST/PWD/Ex-servicemen/women candidates and CPRI Departmental candidates are exempted from payment of fees.
