National Council for Teacher Education, NCTE has extended TET & CTET certificate validity for a lifetime now. The candidates who have qualified the CTET and TET examination can apply for teacher recruitment all through their lifetime. Earlier the validity of TET certificates was 7 years from the date of issue.
The decision to
extend the validity was taken during the 50th Meeting of the NCTE's General
Body that was held on September 29.
As per the
statement released by the Council on October 13 titled ‘Minutes of the 50th
Meeting of the General Body of NCTE held on 29th September 2020”, the Council
considered the agenda item and approved the validity of the TET certificate
changing it from 7 years to the Lifetime.
The dates from
when this extension would be applicable have not been announced yet. As per
reports, the respective states and boards will notify the implementation of
such a decision after the NCTE officially notifies the same.
